Partnership focus: Adler & Allan and the rise of the Adalline® product series
We are proud to hold a number of long-standing and successful partnerships with industry specialists and contractors across Europe. One such specialist is the Adler & Allan Group, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of oil and environmental services.
Renowned for its operational capability and consultancy expertise, A&A offers emergency response, mechanical, electrical, civil engineering and specialist fuel services to some of the world’s most volatile and innovative industries.
Here, we talk to Henrik Pedersen, Business Development Director for A&A, about their ongoing relationship with SPI, and how it resulted in the creation of the exclusive Adalline® product range.
On working together to create customer-centric products, Henrik said:
“We’ve worked with SPI for almost five years now and together we have developed specific performance coatings products and technologies which meet the exacting requirements of our customers.
“The Adalline® product range retains all the unique properties of pure polyurea (or polythiourea elastomer in the case of Adalline® 600), with the additional benefit of offering 100% hydro-carbon resistance.
“As our sole supplier of the Adalline® series, SPI now supports our ongoing requirement and we can rest assured that our supply chain is lean and highly efficient.”
How do the Adalline® products fit with the A&A service offering?
“The Adalline® polyurea and polythiourea elastomer coatings are both versatile technologies and suit many asset protection applications. For us, it has been integral to many projects within the energy and water sectors, as well as the telecommunications industry.
“Like most of the sectors we service, businesses which fall within these remits are heavily reliant on resilience and compliance, so being able to provide them with an asset protection system which ticks all the boxes for environmental legislation is crucial. We achieve this by specifying the Adalline® coatings alongside our patented secondary containment systems – a pioneering combination which has benefited many clients looking for peace of mind when it comes to those all-important resilience and compliance standards.
“We also use the Adalline® products for flood mitigation systems across the utility sector, as well as providing renewed asset resilience for older infrastructure which is no longer fit for purpose.”
For you, what are the main benefits of the Adalline® range?
“The performance coatings marketplace is awash with substandard materials which cannot offer maximum resilience or guaranteed compliance, which is why we specify coatings from the Adalline® range – after all, no other performance coating has been created specifically with our customer’s specific requirements in mind.
“The most compelling part of this technology for us, is that almost any asset can be brought back to life for a fraction of the replacement cost, with the added benefit of next to no downtime; something which is vital in time critical industries.
“Another key benefit for our engineers is that our exclusive Adalline® products outperform all comparable products for health and safety.”
When asked for a particular success story, Henrik cited BT as an organisation which is at the forefront of compliance:
“Leading from the helm on all oil containment regulations, BT announced that with A&A’s help, it would protect all of its installations. The highly skilled A&A team designed a system using the company’s bespoke patented containment solution, coupled with their Adalline® 400 technology, that could be rolled out swiftly across all installations without needing to take equipment off the grid.”
Henrik concluded:
“Working with SPI has enabled us to bring to market a range of highly-durable protective coatings that deliver exactly what our customers require. With just one dedicated supplier, we know that our product needs will be met without delay or inconvenience to our customers.”
